In this pivotal role, you will engage in high-level advocacy efforts while supporting research and reporting initiatives. Your responsibilities include analyzing policy impacts, drafting materials for government relations, and coordinating with various stakeholders. Expect to influence policies that pave the way for long-term changes in addressing hunger and poverty in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor legislative activities affecting Food Banks Canada
• Collaborate on signature reports like the Poverty Report Card
• Draft policy recommendations and consultation documents
• Engage in advocacy campaigns raising food insecurity awareness
• Maintain contacts with political staff and public servants
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in political science or similar field
• At least 4 years of related experience
• Effective communicator with project coordination capabilities
• Insight into grassroots advocacy and political processes
• Bilingualism (English/French) preferred
