Role Overview:

The Digital Organizer is responsible for supporting the campaign's digital organizing and online voter engagement efforts, using digital tools and platforms to recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers alongside the campaign's broader field program. This role requires a creative, online-native approach to building community, driving volunteer action, and translating digital engagement into real-world voter contact. The Digital Organizer should be comfortable working across social media, texting and messaging platforms, and volunteer management tools, with an eye for content that resonates with online audiences and drives action.

This is a full-time position based in Detroit or Ann Arbor, MI, although there is flexibility with remote work. This position offers compensation in the form of a monthly salary and healthcare benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers through digital channels and online organizing tools

  • Support relational organizing and peer-to-peer texting programs

  • Create and manage content for organizing-focused social media accounts and volunteer communities

  • Track and analyze digital organizing metrics to inform strategy and improve performance

  • Coordinate with the field, digital, and communications teams to align online organizing with the campaign's broader voter contact program

  • Support online events, trainings, and volunteer mobilization pushes

  • Monitor online organizing spaces and respond to volunteer questions and engagement in real time

  • Other campaign needs as required

Qualifications (Required):

  • A minimum of 2 political cycles of volunteer or paid work experience in campaigns, digital organizing, or online community management required

  • Proficiency with social media platforms, texting/messaging tools, and volunteer or CRM management software

  • Basic graphic design skills, working with tools like Canva

  • Willingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate credibly and respectfully across a wide range of communities

  • Must have transportation to attend events statewide as needed

  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Drive

  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail

  • Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate

  • Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways

  • Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Premiere, or Express.

  • Experience using VAN and My Campaigns, Solidarity, or other volunteer management software

  • Existing relationships or contacts with local community leaders and organizations outside of traditional progressive Democratic circles
