The OpportunityResource West is seeking an experienced Development & Communications Manager to lead the day-to-day strategy and execution of our fundraising, donor engagement, communications, grants, and annual fundraising event.
This is a hands-on manager role for someone who enjoys both building strategy and executing it. Working closely with the Executive Director, this person will take significant ownership of Resource West's development and communications work while helping us strengthen donor relationships, tell our impact story, and build sustainable revenue.
What You'll LeadDevelop and manage an annual development work plan and fundraising calendar.
Lead individual giving, annual appeals, monthly giving outreach, donor communications, stewardship, and a portfolio of donors and prospects.
Manage the grant calendar; research funding opportunities; and draft proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports in partnership with the Executive Director and program staff.
Develop and manage an annual communications plan and editorial calendar across email, website, social media, print, and other channels.
Write and oversee newsletters, fundraising communications, program updates, impact communications, donor materials, and participant-centered stories.
Lead planning and fundraising strategy for Resource West's annual Spring Fest fundraiser and other seasonal campaigns.
Build relationships with businesses, civic and faith communities, volunteers, donors, and other partners.
Use donor, campaign, audience, and community feedback data to evaluate results and strengthen future strategies.
We recognize that strong candidates bring experience from many different settings. We encourage applicants who meet many, but not necessarily all, of the qualifications below.
Several years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, marketing, community engagement, or a related area.
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, relationship-building, and project management skills.
Experience with donor stewardship, individual giving, grants, sponsor ships, or other fundraising activities.
Experience managing multi-channel communications and comfort with email marketing, social media, website content, donor databases/CRM systems, and digital communications tools.
Ability to independently move work from planning through execution and evaluation while collaborating closely within a small team.
Ability to use data and community feedback to inform decisions and bring forward recommendations.

The salary range is $54,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position.
Medical and dental insurance with 100% of the employee premium paid by Resource West, plus a $500 annual employer-funded FSA benefit, subject to plan eligibility.
Employee savings plan with a Resource West match of up to 3%, subject to plan terms and vesting.
15 days of PTO in the first year, plus 12 paid holidays, including 2 floating holidays
Hybrid work schedule and summer half-day Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
