Executive Director
Overview

The Eastern PA Trans Equity Project (EPTEP) is seeking a passionate and collaborative Executive Director (ED) to lead our growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering transgender individuals.

Job Description

The Executive Director must be a passionate and collaborative individual who will lead our growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering transgender individuals through direct support, advocacy, education, and community-building. EPTEP provides critical services including peer-led support programs, financial assistance for basic needs, legal name change support, workforce development initiatives, and advocacy efforts across Pennsylvania.

This is a remote position, but the selected candidate must reside in our Organization's 42-county footprint in Eastern or Central Pennsylvania. The role requires regular travel and availability for evening and weekend work as needed.

This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader who enjoys building relationships, supporting teams, and helping an organization grow sustainably while staying rooted in community impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the organization’s strategic and operational direction, including developing and executing long term strategic roadmap, planning for financial sustainability, and driving initiatives that strengthen and grow EPTEP’s impact.
  • Support and mentor staff while fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts.
  • Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and organizational sustainability.
  • Strengthen partnerships with community organizations, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a visible advocate and spokesperson for EPTEP’s mission.
  • Strategize, execute, and evaluate mission-aligned programs and initiatives working in a hands-on fashion with our staff and volunteers.
  • Partner closely with the Board of Directors to guide organizational strategy and growth.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
  • At least five years of nonprofit leadership or comparable management experience.
  • Is comfortable fundraising and building donor relationships.
  • Can balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning.
  • Is passionate about advancing equity and supporting transgender communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived or professional experience welcomed.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Eastern PA Trans Equity Project is a "Ban the Box" employer. We do not inquire about criminal history on initial job applications or during preliminary interviews.

Individuals of transgender experience are encouraged to apply.
