Overview
Job Summary and responsibilities:
The Clinical Educator - Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role, reporting to the Manager Clinical Support, in enhancing the skills and knowledge of clinical staff. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating orientation and ongoing professional development programs specifically for clinic leadership and non-provider clinical staff (e.g., Medical Assistants, LVNs, and RNs).
Key responsibilities
:
Develop educational plans informed by best practices and regulatory guidelines, and lead and coordinate training delivered by other Clinical Educator-LVN staff. Assess clinical performance against established standards, organize annual skill assessments and competency evaluations, and collaborate with clinic supervisors and managers to address individual learning needs. Ensure educational activities are engaging, clinically relevant, and aligned with Dignity Health Medical Foundation's mission, meeting all regulatory requirements and supporting high-quality patient care.
Work Arrangement
:
This position is hybrid in-office/clinic and work from home within the Greater Sacramento region.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four (4) years of clinical nursing experience required
- Previous teaching experience, knowledge of ambulatory care regulations, Joint Commission Standards and scope of practice for LVN and RN required
- Bachelor degree in Nursing (or related field) required
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current BLS certification required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, and effectively communicate with a variety of staff (administrative/clerical, medical assistants, LVNs/RNs, providers, office managers) with different skill levels required
- Knowledge of clinical informatics, computer skills, and adult learning theory required
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
