Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology unit. This 36-bed medical-surgical & telemetry unit includes oncological, chemotherapy, and end‑of‑life care. Our team provides compassionate high‑quality care to a diverse patient population.

Associate’s Degree – Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing.

• Registered Nurse license required
• Candidates pursuing licensure are welcome to apply.

• Previous acute care experience preferred
• Strong consideration for new nurses and those transitioning into acute care.

This 10‑week Transition to Practice (TTP) program focuses on orientation, intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for medical‑surgical practice. For new graduates, the TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6‑month residency to support transition to practice.

• Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in‑person sessions using case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs.
• Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence‑based practice guidelines.
• Hands‑on experience with a trained nurse preceptor.

• Series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses).
