LOUISIANA STATE GOVERNMENT (State Employee)

This position may be filled as:

• DETAIL:
  The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
• TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT:
  The position may be filled by a temporary appointment. If filled as a temporary appointment, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment if a permanent position becomes available.
• PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT:
  Current permanent state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.

This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER):

• Registered Nurse 1: $29.84/hour
• Registered Nurse 2: $31.93/hour
• Registered Nurse 3: $34.17/hour

Premium Pay of $5.00/hour is provided for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.

Exams and License Requirements

• No Civil Service Test Score required.
• Verification of degrees, licenses, or DD-214 is required prior to hire.
• Transcripts are needed for college credit experience.

Salary depends on experience. This is part of a Career Progression Group for RN 1, 2, or 3. The maximum salary for RN 3 is $103,293 annually. Refer to the Civil Service website for details.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a current Louisiana RN license or permit. Must verify education and experience with official documentation. Experience based on college credits must be verified with transcripts.

Job Functions: Provide professional nursing care, assist in developing care plans, perform patient assessments, administer medications, assist physicians, and participate in emergency and public health activities.
