Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Student Health and Counseling Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician to provide comprehensive health services to UAF students. The Center delivers medical care, counseling, and health education to support the well‑being of the student body.

In this part‑time role, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians provide ambulatory healthcare and health education as part of the Center’s medical team. The position is part‑time, benefits eligible, and available during the academic year (nine months, from mid‑August through mid‑May), with part‑ work required during half of the summer term.

Success in this position requires a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, a strong interest in addressing both physical and mental health concerns, and a student‑centered approach to supporting individuals in managing their healthcare needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner:
  Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program at the master's level or higher, Alaska license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, Alaska prescriptive authority, including a DEA number or eligibility for a DEA number.
• Physician:
  Degree from an accredited Medical School program, Alaska license to practice as a Physician, Alaska prescriptive authority, including a DEA number or eligibility for a DEA number.

Position Details:

This is a part‑time, 22 pay period (10‑Month) exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
