Nurse Supervisor RN Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and leadership to all on-duty nursing staff during non-business hours. Ensure proper staffing levels, monitor workflow, and assist with prioritizing patient care tasks. Address staff concerns and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
Act as the highest-ranking on-site authority during after-hours and weekends. Make timely decisions related to patient care, staffing, safety, and operations. Collaborate with other departments when needed and escalate issues appropriately.
Offer clinical expertise and support in resolving patient care challenges. Assist with complex cases or difficult family situations. Handle call-ins or last-minute staffing changes, ensuring coverage and continuity of care.
Develops and maintains care standards.
Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment etc.
All other duties, as assigned.
Nurse Supervisor RN

Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

Nurse Supervisor RN Education and Experience:
Current CPR Certification required.
Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
