ResponsibilitiesLicensed Practical Nurses deliver comprehensive community health nursing services to remote and/or isolated First Nations communities within Manitoba. They provide in-depth nursing knowledge, skills, clinical expertise and advanced judgment through consultation, clinical practice, leadership, and facilitate knowledge transfer through health promotion and disease prevention.

Essential Qualifications- Education: Certification or Diploma as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Practical Nurse
- Evaluation of education (certificates/diplomas/degrees) obtained outside Canada must be assessed by a recognized credential assessment service (Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials).
- Occupational Certification: Eligibility for registration as a licensed practical nurse or registered practical nurse in a province or territory of Canada.
- Experience: Experience providing healthcare services as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience providing healthcare services in a hospital or personal care home setting.
- Experience working with Indigenous populations.
- Experience in the provision of nursing care in an acute care setting.

- Maintain current and ongoing certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Willingness to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas
- Willingness to work in a rigorous, diverse and often demanding work environment
- May be required to be temporarily reassigned to other communities as operationally required
- Willingness and ability to perform on call duties, work after hours and on weekends as required
- Willingness to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position
- Maintain current valid registration as a licensed practical nurse and a member in good standing in the province of Manitoba
