Overview
Transport Staff Nurse – Nights 7p‑7a; works the Children’s Mercy Critical Care Transport Team, providing ambulance, air and ground services for neonatal, pediatric and occasionally maternal‑fetal patients.
We handle approximately 6,000 transports per year, including ECMO, high‑frequency ventilation, therapeutic cooling, and other advanced life‑support services.

Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and stabilization of critically ill transport patients, promoting safety and optimal outcomes.
- Maintain a positive relationship with referring and accepting healthcare providers; act as a clinical resource for education and consultation.
- Deliver family‑centered, safe and efficient care during transport.
- Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in performance‑improvement and professional‑development activities.
- Associate’s degree RN (Registered Nurse) required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 3‑5 years of nursing experience, including 3 years of neonatal or pediatric critical‑care experience.
- Licensed RN‑MO or RN‑KS; RN Compact license accepted for other states.
- Required life‑support certifications upon hire (details per Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy).
- Specialty certification relevant to the patient population as determined by the Nurse Manager or Director.
- Ability to handle a maximum patient weight of 230 lb.

Starting PayPayroll range begins at $36.16 /hr, adjusted for education and experience.
