This is a fully remote position. Qualified candidates can live and work anywhere in the United States as long as you have a current active Virginia PMHNP/APRN, State Prescriptive Authority and DEA license.
Position SummaryAs a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blackbird Health, you'll play an essential role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. You'll build meaningful connections with patients to support their engagement in treatment, spend the necessary time understanding their needs, educate them about care options, and provide ongoing support. You'll ensure patients are making progress against their care goals and take the necessary steps to keep our patients safe.

- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management tailored to each patient.
- Spend time with patients and families to understand their experiences, educate them about treatment options, and provide ongoing support, building trust that keeps patients engaged.
- Monitor patient progress against care goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and intervene proactively to keep patients safe.
- Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans that address the whole child; participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Provide consultation and education to patients and families, helping them understand diagnoses and treatment options.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA‑compliant records; perform other clinical‑related activities as assigned.
- Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during peak after‑school hours (after 4 pm ET on weekdays or any time on weekends).
- Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program, PMHNP‑BC certification, and at least two years of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
- Experience as a PMHNP working with ages 2 and above.
- Active Virginia PMHNP/APRN license, DEA license, and State Prescriptive Authority.
