Overview

Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates! The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail‑oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team, offering patient care and supporting higher level nursing and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.

The LPN functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) while demonstrating professional and clinical knowledge relative to the designated clinical practice setting. The LPN works as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicates effectively with physicians, NPs, and PAs, provides care and treatment for patients, offers clinical support and teaching to patient and family members, and adheres to legal and ethical nursing standards.

Responsibilities include performing testing, medication administration, implementing nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care, and serving as a patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease. The work may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire is required.

A valid LPN license in the state(s) of practice is required.
