Overview
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital's Medical Specialties Department, in Norfolk, Virginia. Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates. Shift: Full Time, Day shift (7a-7p).
ResponsibilitiesThe RN is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN applies standards of practice and standards of professional performance, and possesses clinical knowledge to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.

- RN Degree REQUIRED
- Virginia RN License REQUIRED
- BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire
- Experience:
Prior RN experience preferred
5k Department Overview:
This 42-bed unit specializes in the care of Adult Surgical Patients. It is a telemetry-monitored unit. Care includes patients with renal disease, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure. The unit also has beds for Epilepsy monitoring and is the Living Kidney Donor Transplant Unit. Average patient stay is 3-4 days.
