Overview

The Manager of Professional Practice will be responsible for the Magnet program, diabetes education, and nursing education. The Manager of Professional Practice will lead the nurse and diabetes educators. Possess extensive knowledge of the organization and be a valued and contributing member of the nursing leadership team to oversee all aspects of the Magnet® application process and through all phases of the appraisal.

Key functions include development and oversight of the organization’s timeline, educating leadership and staff, and fostering engagement. Serve as liaison between the organization and the Magnet Program Office. Create a balanced, sustainable process of readiness and preparation for all deadlines and timelines. Lead strategic clinical programs/projects for the division. Champion nursing research and evidence‑based practice, innovations in nursing, professional development goal achievement, and shared governance structures.

Provide leadership for advancement of professional nursing practice. Knowledge of principles and processes associated with evidence‑based nursing care required. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques required. Ability to assess need for and manage change.

Magnet® or Pathway to Excellence® program experience preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and exceptional scholarly writing. Must possess and demonstrate program/project management, organizational skills, adept relationship‑building and leadership skills. Exceptional proven ability to manage complex projects with significant time management. Familiarity with spreadsheets and complex reporting software.

Certification Required

Registered Nurse License (RN) - Nursing License - Compact/Multi‑State License

Education Required

Master’s Degree (MSN preferred)

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing BSN

Experience Required

3 years of clinical (acute care preferred)

1 year of leadership (acute care preferred)
