About

The Role

As an Advanced Practice Practitioner, you will provide clinical care to patients receiving medication for OUD and a narrow suite of mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.). You’ll work closely with other clinicians, triage nurses, and care coordinators to deliver compassionate, evidence‑based treatment. Depending on the role type you may conduct intake or follow‑up visits and work within a team‑based model of care.

Patient care hours are Monday–Friday 9a–7p and Saturday & Sunday 9a–5p, with weekend coverage provided by our most experienced providers. We will work with you to determine your ideal schedule within these hours.

The Ideal Candidate Is An APP Who
  • Has a passion for serving vulnerable populations.
  • Has previous experience caring for individuals with OUD, or is willing to learn the clinical skills needed to provide MOUD through a telehealth platform.
  • Is looking for full‑time work in a fast‑paced, innovative start‑up that values patient‑centered care.

No experience with MOUD is required for this role; we will teach you what you need to know.

In This Role You Will Be Responsible For
  • Individualized treatment plans; modify plans when patients are not improving, alone or with more experienced provider.
  • Behavioral interventions using motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and other techniques; conduct behavioral health/psych evaluations for the suite of psych services (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.).
  • Medication management: track response, monitor symptoms and side effects, adherence, and prescribe or queue appropriate medications.
  • Patient education on OUD and MOUD.
  • Charting: document all encounters in Ophelia’s EHR in a timely, high‑quality manner.
Training And License Requirements
  • Board Certified NP or PA.
  • Active DEA license (Schedule 3–5) or willingness to obtain one upon offer.
  • Fully licensed to practice in New Jersey (licenses in PA, NY, VA, MD also a plus).

  • Provide patient‑centered, non‑judgmental, non‑stigmatizing care.
  • Passionate about working with vulnerable or marginalized populations.
  • Comfortable with a diverse patient population.
  • Proficient in a remote telehealth environment with multi‑platform tech.
  • Excited about an early‑stage startup that evolves processes and technology.
  • Team‑based approach to patient care.
  • Knowledge of differential diagnosis of substance use disorders.
  • Basic psychopharmacology for opioid use disorder.
  • Collaborative and effective communication in a team setting.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients and team.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based psychosocial treatments, counseling techniques, brief behavioral intervention.

Compensation Range: $110,000 – $125,000 USD.
