Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview

We're seeking board certified Nurse Practitioners licensed in Texas and one or more additional states with broad clinical expertise and a passion for improving healthcare access and quality. In this role, you'll deliver virtual comprehensive care to patients of all ages across a wide range of conditions, while working closely with our provider and support teams. This is a great opportunity for a clinician with at least three years experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.

This role requires an active RN compact license and licensure in multiple states. Ideal candidates will hold five or more active state licenses.

• Weekly shifts: Includes 8 hours of evening shifts per week.
• Weekend rotation: Required to work every 4th weekend (both Saturday & Sunday).
• Shift types: Day/evening shifts rotate every other weekend.
• Three holiday shifts required per calendar year.

Please Note: Shift scheduling is managed by our team (this is not a self‑scheduling role), but we always do our best to take your personal preferences into consideration. Final hours and specific shift times will be confirmed a few weeks prior to your official start date.

• Graduate of an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program, with prior graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with maintained Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, in accordance with state requirements.
• Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
• Active RN compact license.
• Active multi‑state licensure (5+ licenses preferred).
• Minimum three years post‑training experience in high‑volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.
• Experience providing care to newborns through adult populations.
• Ability to function within an integrated medical practice.
• Strong clinical acumen and ability to manage a broad range of conditions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient engagement skills.
• Proficiency with technology and electronic medical records.
• Maintain active Medicare status - in good standing with Medicare/Medicaid and not excluded from participation in federal health programs.

• Conduct age‑appropriate history and virtual exams.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of conditions across the lifespan.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
• Develop and document treatment plans in a timely, accurate manner.
• Manage acute, chronic, and mental health conditions for pediatric and adult patients.
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers when appropriate.
• Counsel and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical best practices and evidence‑based care.
• Provide cross‑coverage for tasks such as reviewing lab results.
• Offer scheduling flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

• Prior telemedicine or video‑based virtual care experience.
• Experience with Athena EMR.

Full‑Time: 40 hours per week minimum - $123,000 per year on average with guaranteed base + equity + benefits. Additionally, Included Health offers productivity incentives for employees who exceed the visit target. Details of the incentive structure will be discussed during the interview process.
