Overview
Med/Surg Observation Unit located in Norfolk, VA. Hours/Shift: Full‑time, dayshift (approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Generous Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000 and moving allowance for qualified candidates. New grads welcome: $7,500 Sign‑On Bonus.
Position OverviewAs a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you will assess and admit patients, conduct rounding checks, administer medications, communicate with families, and oversee the overall care of patients in the Med/Surg Observation Unit. Teamwork is exceptional, with a focus on delivering the best possible care.
Responsibilities- Assess and admit patients to the observation unit.
- Perform daily rounding checks and document findings.
- Administer medications and other treatments as ordered.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Virginia or Compact Multi‑State RN license in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- RN diploma, ASN, BSN, or MSN from an accredited school.
- Medical, dental, vision plans.
