Work performed at Fort Drum MEDDAC Guthrie Ambulatory Clinic, NY. HCWs will receive notification two weeks prior to reassignment within a 40-mile commuting radius.
Schedule and HoursClinic duty hours are 0730 to 1630, 8-hour shifts with a 60-minute unpaid lunch. Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, excluding federal holidays. On-call, overage, and callback hours: N/A.
Scheduling OverviewThe schedule is coordinated by the Primary Care Clinic Chief and may change based on medical necessity and clinic mission. No telework or take-home work is allowed. Contractor HCWs are paid only for hours worked. No makeup for time not worked.
Training- New Employee Orientation
- Common Federal Training (CFT) List - e.g., Anti-Terrorism, OPSEC

Contractor must provide documentation for immunizations, annual vaccinations, medical testing (tuberculosis, N95 mask fitting), and a physical examination at initial placement.
Core Duties- Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services per MTF privileges, including supervision, screening, medical care, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions across all organ systems, immunizations, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling.
- Technically direct and teach staff, deliver evidence-based educational lectures, and participate in in-service training.
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols and guidelines, consulting physicians as required.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance, including annual physicals, healthy behaviors, and self-care through formal and individual education.
- Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team and patient families to convey care plans and educational content.
- Identify isolation conditions and ensure universal precautions in all encounters.
- Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, quality improvement, and safety.
- Order diagnostic tests and request consultations or referrals as indicated.
- Maintain technical proficiency in directing, teaching, and providing educational lectures, adhering to government and professional standards.
- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries such as respiratory infections, heart disorders, allergic reactions, asthma, eczema, etc.
- Perform medical procedures expected of a GS or Active-Duty Service Member Pediatric Nurse Practitioner of equal training.
- Graduate degree or higher in nursing from an accredited program in pediatrics.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- At least one year of recent experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
- Completion of a formal post-graduate certificate program in the specialty (e.g., PNCB or ANCC).
- Valid, unrestricted license to practice in a U.S. state or territory, in good standing.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Proficient English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Strong initiative, interpersonal, and social sensitivity skills.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with GENESIS EMR, Microsoft Office, DMHRSi, and related applications.
