Required Qualifications- Professionally trained in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or related fields (e.g., physician, pharmacist, or physician’s assistant), with relevant licensure and no active disciplinary actions.
- Education, training, or certification in infection control and prevention, including specialized training through accredited continuing education.
- Meets all state-specific licensure and certification requirements.
- Program Development and Oversight
:
Create, implement, and update infection prevention and control policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current standards of practice. - Monitoring and Education
:
Lead infection control assessments, provide ongoing training to staff, and ensure proper documentation of infection prevention activities. - Collaboration and Compliance
:
Work with other departments to maintain occupational health standards, oversee the antibiotic stewardship program, and report communicable diseases to public health authorities.
