The Certified Nurse Midwife is a registered professional nurse who has specialized skills, knowledge and experience in obstetrical, neonatal and gynecological medicine and is duly authorized to perform designated acts of medical therapeutics and corrective measures in collaboration with and under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Provides appropriate patient care in accordance with the applicable nursing practice as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing, established protocols, policies, and procedures of SJHMC and other regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety
- Provides direct patient care as a certified nurse midwife
- Management of low risk Antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient within the guidelines of established protocols
- Practices within CNM scope of practice and established guidelines
- Communicates in a clear concise manner utilizing professional communication methods to solve problems and handle conflict
- Participates in the clinic leadership team to address all issues related to APN function as well as participates with peers and supervising physician in updating midwifery protocols, policies and procedures annually

Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed provider group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 350 providers and 850 support staff who cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 sub-specialty services.
