Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator (UC) - Neuro ICU Unit

Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator (UC) at Sentara Norfolk General's Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift: Full Time, Nights shift (7p-7a)
Unit Overview:

The Neuro IMCU is a blended unit focusing on all neuro patients, including stroke patients, back and neck post-surgical patients, and has one of the few Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) in the area.

We provide highly skilled care to the following types of neuroscience patients:

Back and Neck surgical patients

Epilepsy patients

All neurosurgeries (brain, pituitary, etc.)Stroke patients (surgical and non-surgical)

Overview Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
18 months nursing experience required. BSN required;
Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.

Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.

Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.

BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

EducationBSN Degree REQUIRED Certification/Licensure Virginia RN License REQUIRED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire Experience
