6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with rotating weekend schedule.

Unit DescriptionThe Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‑and post‑catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.
Transition to Practice Programs- No separate application required; automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months of experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for providing a competent level of nursing care as defined by the nursing process and standards of practice, which include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must also demonstrate professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet the required standards as specified within the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit.
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- BSN or MSN preferred
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
- NIH within 1 year of hire
- Acute care nursing experience preferred
- Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
- New Grad RNs welcome
