Behavioral Health is a specialty within the nursing profession that encompasses the care of individuals across the life span who present with physical, emotional, or psychological alterations of health. Psychiatric nursing is the care of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of settings, helping prepare patients and families for safe discharge and therapeutic continuum of care. Psychiatric nurses adapt the nursing process to include de‑escalation skills, safety, assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of human responses when caring for patients.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Licenses and

Certifications:

Registered Nurse (KSBN); multistate license allowing practice in Kansas. Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required within 90 days; additional RQI’s may be required within 90 days.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Patient facing. Workspace must be quiet and distraction‑free to comply with security and privacy standards. Requires stable electricity and a minimum of 25mb upload and internet speed. Dedicate full attention to job duties and communication with others during working hours. Adhere to break and attendance schedules agreed upon with supervisor. Abide by Stormont Vail’s Remote Worker Policy and review and acknowledge the Remote Work Agreement annually.
