Position Overview
Telephonic Oncology Case Manager RN
In this role you will provide education, advocacy, and the necessary connections to resources for our oncology member population. Your work will have a lasting impact on patient outcomes and the health of the community.
Core hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm Monday–Friday in your time zone, with one late night per week until 7:00 pm. The position is eligible for remote work within the U.S.
Primary Responsibilities- Make outbound calls to assess patients’ current health status.
- Identify gaps or barriers in treatment plans.
- Interact with Medical Directors on challenging cases.
- Provide patient education to assist with self‑management.
- Coordinate care for members.
- Encourage members to make healthy lifestyle changes.
- Document and track findings.
- Educate members on disease processes.
- Make post‑discharge calls to ensure discharged members receive necessary services and resources.
- Utilization management by evaluating the appropriateness and efficiency of requested health care services, procedures, and cancer treatments under the applicable health benefits plan.
- Current, unrestricted RN license.
- Multiple state licensure (or ability to obtain multiple state nursing licenses).
- 3+ years of recent oncology experience in a hospital setting, acute care, direct care, or as an oncology telephonic case manager for an insurance company.
- Recent chemotherapy administration experience.
- Computer proficiency, including solid data entry skills and ability to navigate a Windows environment.
- Access to high‑speed internet from home (Broadband Cable, DSL or Fiber).
- Dedicated workspace for home office setup.
- BSN.
- OCN Certification.
- Chemo Administration Certification.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM).
- Background in managed care.
- Case or disease management experience.
- Experience or exposure with discharge planning.
- Salary range: $60,200 – $107,400 annually, based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
