The position of Nurse Practitioner PD in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine requires a highly competent, independent yet team-oriented individual who will be immersed in Hospital Medicine. Under supervision of the designated physician and per applicable policies, the NP will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings and provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
An NP is an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who possesses the advanced education, knowledge, clinical skills, and experience to provide advanced nursing care in their area of specialization.
This position may perform functions as appropriate to their scope of practice, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical/surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures. Privileges are unique to each person and may not include all privileges. The NP may provide patient care in adult populations across Health licensed settings and affiliates. The NP is expected to uphold standards of care, self-direction, and accountability in the clinical role.
APPs must be credentialed to practice and privileged through the Medical Staff prior to first working day.
The NP is accountable to, evaluated by, and provided feedback from the supervising/collaborating physician, physician designee, or Administrative Manager.

Required:
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
Special Conditions:
- Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
