CNA ; Client Care Aide - Rifle Veterans Community Living Center - Rifle

Office of Adult, Aging and Disability Services – CO State Veterans Community Living Center at Rifle.

Position:
Care Aide (Nurse Aide) – full‑time or part‑time, training position for basic patient/resident care.

• Perform basic assessments including vital signs, blood pressure, weight, intake and output, and basic skin assessments.
• Provide infection control through universal precautions and proper waste disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness of linen room and equipment, restock supplies, and complete supply forms.
• Use safety/positioning devices, side rails, transfer belts, and equipment correctly.
• Attend ongoing staff education programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current, valid CNA license or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
• Must be a Colorado resident at application and throughout employment.

• Knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned resident care based on conditions; use judgment and recognize and report resident information.
• Ability to recognize urgent or emergent resident care situations and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
• Knowledge of quality standards, procedures, and protocols.
• Knowledge of specialized client care applicable to the work situation.
• Skill in initiating, performing, and completing assigned duties in providing care to residents.
• Effective work with elderly patient population of varying abilities and staff from multiple units.
• Ability to observe, identify, and respond to resident care needs including medication, equipment, and family education.
• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
• Professional conduct at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Long‑term care/nursing home experience highly desirable.
• Effective problem‑solving skills.
