Role Description This part-time and/or full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role is a hybrid position based in Harrisonburg, VA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct psychiatric evaluations, provide ongoing medication management, and monitor treatment effectiveness and safety. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with therapists and other providers, updating individualized treatment plans, documenting care in the medical record, and coordinating referrals as needed.

The role involves educating clients and families about diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies, while maintaining a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach. The practitioner will also participate in case consultations and support the center's mission of providing a safe, empowering clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatric Care, with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices.
• Licensure and experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Knowledge and experience in Mental Health Care across diverse populations, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Solid nursing skills, including clinical judgment, patient education, and coordination of care.
• Current, unrestricted NP license in Virginia and prescriptive authority or eligibility for prescriptive privileges.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and maintaining client confidentiality.
• Experience in outpatient behavioral health or integrated care settings is preferred.
• Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment and adapt to a hybrid work model.
