Nursing Position at Michigan Medicine

The nursing position involves organizing and managing multiple interventions simultaneously, problem solving collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders, performing phone triage, delivering culturally sensitive, age-specific care using team-based nursing models, documenting nursing care accurately and efficiently, utilizing internal and external resources appropriately, providing functional supervision to assistive personnel, managing patient triage, clinical follow-ups, and support face-to-face and remote clinic workflows, educating patients and families, developing individualized teaching plans, adapting approaches to readiness and understanding, upholding hospital protocols, participating in quality improvement, demonstrating strong critical thinking, organization, communication, and technological proficiency, maintaining supportive, constructive relationships with team members, addressing conflicts constructively, and delegating tasks appropriately.
The expectations include demonstrating critical thinking by effectively using the nursing process, setting priorities, and solving problems, exhibiting excellent customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships across units and with individuals, displaying accountability and dependability, including maintaining a strong attendance record and punctuality, adapting to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals, providing patient and family education and coaching, demonstrating proficiency with typing and electronic health record (EHR) documentation, and managing complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
Required qualifications include a bachelors degree in Nursing or an associates degree or diploma in Nursing and a masters degree in Nursing, a current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan, minimum of three years of recent pediatric clinical experience as an RN, including experience caring for pediatric surgical patients, and minimum of one year of recent ambulatory care nursing experience.
The desired qualification is certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing.

Nursing at Michigan offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits! Hourly range for RSAM Competent, Registered Nurses $43.10-$67.03/ hour. Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour. Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour. Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour. Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour. Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour. Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour. Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted under the Role-Specific Advancement Model (RSAM) as: CCC- COMPETENT. Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. RSAM levels range from CCC-COMPETENT to CCC-EXPERT TO CCC-MASTERY to CCC- MASTERY PLUS.

Hours/Week: 40 hrs, 1.0 FTE. Days:
Day shift Monday-Friday. Hours to be determined upon hire, flexibility in days/shift may be required in the future. Flexibility to support other pediatric clinics may be required.
Location:
C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Ambulatory Care Services, Pediatric Craniofacial Clinic. All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
