Overview
The Perinatal Transport Staff Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide comprehensive, age appropriate nursing care to the high risk or critically ill patient during transport. Acts as a team leader on maternal fetal transports and supports a teamwork philosophy.

Responsibilities
* Provides direct patient care through assessment, intervention and stabilization for the critically ill transport patient that promotes safety and optimal patient outcomes.
* Promotes a positive relationship with referring/accepting healthcare providers; serves as a clinical resource for the education and consultation needs of the healthcare team.
* Promotes safe, efficient, family-centered care to transport patients.
* Promotes continuity of patient care through the documentation process.
* Participates in performance improvement and professional development activities.
Qualifications
* Associate's Degree ADN
Required:
* Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
* and 3-5 years experience Level III Maternal Care experience; high risk obstetrical care or
* Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date:

* One of the following:
Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
* One of the following:
Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
* Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
* Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Required 1 Year

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $37.69/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
