Join a mission-driven team with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) where you will use your nursing knowledge and expertise to be part of a team that provides surveillance and evaluation of health care providers to confirm compliance with Federal and State laws and rules related to the provision of nursing and health services.

Working as a Health Facility Evaluator, you will:

+ Evaluate health care providers using nursing and health knowledge and expertise of survey documents.

+ Document conclusions to determine degree of regulation compliance.

+ Make periodic unannounced follow-up visits to health care providers to ascertain compliance with correction orders and deficiencies previously issued.

+ Attend legal proceedings or hearings regarding deficiencies, issuance of penalty assessments, abuse/neglect, or termination/adverse action situations.

** Positions will be based out of the St. Cloud office location with 75% of work time spent onsite performing surveillance of facilities located in the surrounding region of Minnesota. When not onsite, remaining follow-up work is performed by teleworking from your home office.*
* ** Candidates must be available for occasional weekend work. Overnight travel may be up to 75% of the time. Most work hours are between 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday and the need for weekend or overnight travel is determined by inspection workload.*
* ** Reimbursement for authorized business travel expenses is provided according to bargaining unit guidelines.*

* ** Minimum Qualifications*

Currently licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, without restriction.

Two (2) years of professional experience in a health care setting in positions that may include the following:

+ Registered Nurse (RN)

+ Charge Nurse (must include at least two years as an RN Charge nurse)

+ RN Supervisor

+ Director of Nursing

+ Health Care Administrator

Substitute a master's degree in nursing, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Medical Field or closely related area for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree in one of the above areas may be substituted for twelve (12) months of experience; and an associate's degree in one of the above areas may substitute for six (6) months of experience.
