Elevate your career working as a Nursing Evaluator with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), where your nursing expertise meets our commitment to protect, maintain, and improve the health of all Minnesotans!
The Nursing Evaluator will provide regulatory surveillance to licensed assisted living and home care providers using nursing and health related knowledge to assure quality care and services through compliance with State regulations, laws and rules related to the provision of assisted living and home care services.
Working as a Nurse Evaluator, you will:
+ Conduct scheduled onsite surveys of state licensed assisted living facilities and home-care providers.
+ Make onsite observations, conduct interviews and write licensing correction orders of survey findings.
+ May be responsible for participating in administrative hearings and conducting follow-up visits to providers to ensure correction of licensing violations.
** The majority of work hours are between 8:00 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, and the need for weekend or overnight travel is determined by survey workload.*
* ** Reimbursement for authorized business travel expenses is provided according to bargaining unit guidelines.*
* ** This position is hybrid (involves both: time spent o*
* ** n-site performing surveillance and teleworking from your home office). Position will be filled for the following MDH district office location based on the top candidate:*
* ** Rochester or Mankato.*
* _In accordance with_ HR/LR Policy #1422 Telework () _, this position is eligible for up to 50% telework for applicants who live in Minnesota or in a bordering state within 50 miles of the assigned work location. Candidates residing outside of Minnesota or in a bordering state within 50 miles of the assigned work location at the time of application must be able to relocate to Minnesota within 30 days of their start date.
The telework policy may exempt employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement, depending on job requirements, helping the State of Minnesota access top talent across the state._
** Minimum Qualifications*
* _To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates that beginning and ending month and year for each job held._
Currently licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, without restriction
** AND*
* Two (2) years of experience in a health care setting in positions that may include the following:
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Charge Nurse (must include at least two years as an RN charge nurse)
+ RN Supervisor
+ Director of Nursing
+ Health Care Administrator
Substitute a master's degree in nursing, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Psychology, or closely related medical field for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree in one of the above areas may be substituted for twelve (12) months of experience; and associate's degree in one of the above areas may be substituted for six (6) months of experience.
