Registered Nurse, RN, Triage

• Manage incoming member/patient calls to evaluate purpose and acuity using established protocols and nursing assessment
• Recommend appropriate care disposition and follow up as necessary
• Provide treatment recommendations, options, and care resolution
• Review relevant healthcare information and document call purpose, information, assessment, interventions, responses, and disposition plans
• Provide education to the public and other health professionals
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects
• Facilitate referrals to physicians, services, and facilities, or direct individuals to appropriate departments
• Research member history using databases and electronic health systems to coordinate care
• Assess acuity and triage callers to the appropriate level of care
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement processes
• Coordinate care by connecting members with appropriate services and departments
• Provide direction and supervision to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Interact with patients, families, physicians, staff, healthcare providers, community agencies, and external contacts

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
• Current BLS certification required for state of practice, except for remote workers or Insurance Division team members
• Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
• Five years of clinical experience
• Excellent organizational skills and clinical knowledge regarding specialty care services
• Knowledge of care coordination, legal and financial aspects of diagnostic services, and health services in the specialty area
• Ability to make autonomous decisions using excellent clinical judgment
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of quality customer service principles
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Good time management skills
• Knowledge of word processing and database software applications
• Ability to teach clinical and non-clinical personnel regarding care and diagnostic services
• Understanding of process improvement
• Must be located in Northern Colorado
• Reliable internet with Ethernet connection only (no Wi‑Fi)
• Quiet work area/home office
• Monday-Friday, 5/8s, working between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• Bachelor's in nursing and/or recent telephone triage experience strongly preferred
• Previous emergency, pediatric, maternal/child health, ambulatory, home health, or critical care experience preferred
• Bilingual ability a plus

Demonstrates expertise in nursing assessment, care coordination, and patient education, with a strong focus on quality improvement and effective communication. Holds a valid RN license and BLS certification, with extensive clinical experience in specialty care services.
