A large, multi-state senior living organization is seeking a Vice President of Health Services to lead clinical strategy, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and nursing excellence across a six-state portfolio of skilled nursing and assisted living communities.
This highly visible executive role is ideal for a strategic clinical leader who can shape enterprise-wide programs while remaining connected to frontline care. You will lead an experienced regional clinical team, partner closely with operational and executive leadership, and translate regulatory, reimbursement, workforce, risk, and technology trends into practical strategies that improve resident outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a confident, collaborative, and highly communicative leader who respects the knowledge of long-tenured team members while bringing the courage to challenge established practices and drive meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities- Set and execute the organization’s clinical strategy across skilled nursing and assisted living communities.
- Lead quality-improvement initiatives related to falls, wounds, medication management, infection prevention, and other key clinical risks.
- Oversee regulatory compliance and survey readiness across a six-state portfolio.
- Partner with operations, compliance, risk management, and executive leadership to improve quality and organizational performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop regional clinical leaders through clear expectations, consistent communication, and accountability.
- Strengthen nurse leadership development, clinical education, mentorship, and retention.
- Support state quality initiatives and reimbursement-linked performance programs.
- Provide executive oversight of clinical systems and health information management, including Point Click Care and Eldermark.
- Visit communities regularly to evaluate performance, support leaders, and maintain a strong connection to resident care.
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Progressive clinical leadership experience in senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care.
- Leadership experience across both skilled nursing and assisted living settings.
- Experience overseeing regional clinical teams and a geographically dispersed portfolio.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, survey readiness, quality improvement, and clinical risk management.
- Experience working across multiple state regulatory environments;
Florida and/or Montana experience is a plus. - Strong executive communication, coaching, collaboration, and change-management skills.
- Experience using clinical technology and data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- Ability to travel extensively, potentially up to three weeks per month.
- Current residence in the Twin Cities or willingness to relocate and work regularly from the home office.
