ReNew Life Recovery Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our growing behavioral health and substance use treatment team in Danville, Virginia.
This role is ideal for an RN who is comfortable working with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions and who values teamwork, clinical quality, and person-centered care.
You will work closely with psychiatric providers, therapists, substance use counselors, QMHPs, peer recovery specialists, and clinical leadership to support safe, coordinated treatment.
What You Will Do- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor physical and behavioral health needs
- Administer medications and provide medication education within scope of practice
- Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in client condition
- Support psychiatric and medical providers with ongoing clinical monitoring
- Provide health education and wellness support to clients
- Assist with coordination of medical care, laboratory services, pharmacy needs, and outside providers
- Recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent concerns
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case consultation
- Support clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant nursing documentation
- Support medication reconciliation and continuity of care during admission, transfer, and discharge
- Assist with clinical policies, infection‑control practices, and medication‑management procedures
- Maintain compliance with applicable Virginia Board of Nursing, DBHDS, DMAS, organizational, and CARF requirements
- Current, unrestricted Virginia RN license or qualifying multistate compact license
- Graduate of an approved registered nursing program
- Current BLS certification
- 2-5 years of nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Experience with medication administration and patient education
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
- Substance use disorder treatment experience
- IOP and/or PHP experience
- Withdrawal management or addiction medicine experience
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Virginia DBHDS program experience
- Virginia Medicaid or DMAS experience
- Crisis intervention experience
- Medication‑assisted treatment experience
- CARF‑accredited program experience
$40-$46 per hour
Compensation will be based on nursing experience, behavioral health background, credentials, and overall qualifications.
This range is intentionally competitive for Danville. Current behavioral‑health RN openings in the area include approximately $31.49-$42.51 per hour at Sovah Health, while another Danville behavioral‑health employer is advertising roughly $35-$52 per hour. Lifepoint Health Careers
