This position is designed to provide additional clinical coverage based on patient volume and operational needs. The PRN provider will be available on an as-needed basis between the hours of 7:00 AM-7:00 PM to assist with drop-in patients, same-day patient needs, telemedicine visits, and other clinical coverage as requested.

This is not a regularly scheduled 7:00 AM-7:00 PM shift. Hours will vary based on patient volume and practice needs, and PRN hours are not guaranteed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics, extremity care, sports medicine, non-operative musculoskeletal medicine, or interventional pain management and must be comfortable evaluating and managing patients through telemedicine. Experience treating personal injury patients is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide virtual patient care on an as-needed basis during the designated availability window.
  • Evaluate drop-in, same-day, and other patients requiring additional provider coverage.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including review of medical history, symptoms, diagnostic results, and relevant clinical information.
  • Develop and manage appropriate treatment and follow-up plans for orthopedic and pain-management patients.
  • Conduct telemedicine visits professionally and efficiently while maintaining appropriate standards of care.
  • Review and interpret diagnostic studies, including X-rays and MRIs, and recommend additional testing or referrals when appropriate.
  • Provide patient education regarding orthopedic conditions, injury recovery, pain management, treatment recommendations, and self-care.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, clinical staff, and other members of the care team to support continuity of care.
  • Coordinate care related to personal injury patients when appropriate.
  • Follow established clinical protocols, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in required APP training or clinical meetings as applicable.
  • Maintain availability and responsiveness during agreed-upon PRN coverage periods.
Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Georgia required.
  • Must reside in the State of Georgia.
  • Experience in orthopedics and/or interventional pain management required.
  • Experience treating personal injury and motor vehicle accident patients preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently manage appropriate patient encounters in a virtual environment.
  • Experience providing telemedicine services preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Care Cloud EMR preferred but not required.
  • Additional licenses in Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Illinois, and/or Mississippi are a plus.
  • Willingness to pursue additional state licensure as Phoenix Ortho's telemedicine services expand may be required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to respond appropriately to changing patient-care needs.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the broader clinical team.
