Nurse (LPN),
OP to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine traditional outpatient clinical responsibilities with OPAT (
Outpatient
Parenteral
Antibiotic
Therapy
), care coordination, and laboratory monitoring.
Location: UPMC Specialty Care Infectious Disease 810 Sir Thomas Court, Suite 101 Harrisburg, PA 17109
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- No weekends
- No holidays
- Approximately 90% onsite with some flexibility for remote work when responsibilities are limited to laboratory monitoring and care coordination
The ideal candidate will have experience with care coordination, laboratory monitoring, and patients receiving antibiotic or infusion therapy... Experience with OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy), PICC line management, care management, and coordinating services with infusion centers and home health agencies is highly preferred. Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and follow-through are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Purpose: Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
