Associate Veterinarian

Blackhorse Animal Hospital is a thriving small animal practice in Cypress, Texas, serving our loyal clients since 2008. We are seeking a full-time associate to join our family! We offer a competitive salary and benefits, advanced equipment and support our doctor’s family time and wellbeing.

Cypress, Texas is a wonderful suburb in Northwest Houston with all the amenities expected from living near a big city. For families, Cypress offers excellent schools and community events. Our hospital serves an affluent clientele which allows us to practice high quality medicine with a high level of acceptance.

Our practice currently has two full-time doctors, one part-time doctor, and dedicated support staff. All our doctors have at least 10 years of experience in small animal medicine. At Blackhorse Animal Hospital all our employees are considered family. Our team strives to treat everyone the way we all want to be treated, with compassion, respect, and understanding. We encourage our technicians to reach their highest potential, allowing our doctors to focus on practicing medicine and surgery.

We encourage all staff to develop their skills and interests. We practice cutting edge medicine and have an excellent referral network for more difficult cases and surgeries. We also enjoy no weekend hours, major holidays off, and our doctors work a four-day work week. We want all our employees to enjoy stress‑free time off. We do not board animals or hospitalize pets over the weekend.

We have modern equipment including in‑house lab (Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Cytology), digital radiography, therapeutic laser, dental radiography, and dentistry. We also have an electrosurgical/cautery unit and top of the line anesthetic monitoring devices.

Great interpersonal skills, working well with others, confident, ethical, dependable, wanting to continue to learn, and wanting to become part of a family environment.

We know how daunting it is to start your new career, and we promise that you will have excellent support from doctors that have at least a decade of experience.

Interest in ultrasound would be welcome, as we currently outsource all but fast scans. We can potentially support most of the new services you might want to bring on. The practice has continued to grow every year since 2008.
