City Vet is now accepting applications for its Veterinarian Externship Program
, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students the opportunity to gain hands‑on clinical experience in a veterinarian‑led practice environment.

This program is designed for students seeking meaningful mentorship, real‑world clinical exposure, and insight into practice models centered on autonomy, collaboration, and long‑term career growth.

City Vet externships provide a structured yet flexible clinical experience in small animal general practice settings, with many locations also offering urgent care exposure.

• Eligibility: 3rd and 4th-year DVM students at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools
• Duration: Two‑week externship blocks, with flexibility to accommodate university rotation requirements
• Stipend: Competitive stipend, paid via direct deposit on the first Friday of the rotation
• Housing: Housing is not provided; however, City Vet can share accommodation recommendations from prior externs
• International students: Eligible if enrolled at an AVMA-accredited university and authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Externs work alongside experienced veterinary teams and receive hands‑on exposure that may include:
