Grounds Worker

Provide landscape maintenance service to maintain and beautify Unity Village grounds. Responsible for operation and maintenance of landscape and farm machinery.

• Operate mowing equipment and perform daily adjustments and maintenance. Push and tractor mowers. Operate power hand tools. Operate tractors, brush hog mowers, plows, discs, planters, chain saws.
• Perform routine daily tasks including mowing, weed eating, planting and applying fertilizers or chemicals.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to the assigned schedule. This position is not a remote or telecommute position.
• Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements and guidelines.
• Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off requests.

• Snow removal, as needed.
• Work on call for after-hours duties (weekends and holidays) as required.

Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

• 18 years of age.
• 6 months of landscape machinery equipment and farm machinery experience.
• Good customer service skills to assist campus patrons with directions or other requests.

• Missouri Chauffeur license or willing to obtain once employed.
• Bucket truck certification or willing to obtain once employed.

Driver and labor-intensive position requiring frequent use of hands-fingers, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating equipment and company vehicles, including mowers, weed eaters, blowers, heavy equipment, and trucks.

The work occurs at a 1400 acre campus setting with indoor and outdoor locations including office buildings, hotel, residential and Airbnb housing, golf course, water treatment plant, water tower, lakes, and walking trail.

Personal protective equipment required includes steel-toe boots, safety goggles, ear protection, respirators, and gloves.
