Seasonal Outdoor Operations & Guest Services Technician Aquarius Trail Hut System | Utah Backcountry (July–October)
The Aquarius Trail Hut System is seeking a motivated, dependable, and outdoor-oriented individual to join our seasonal operations team. This is a full-time, immersive seasonal outdoor job for someone who enjoys independence, remote work environments, and interacting with bicycle tour guests in some of the most spectacular backcountry terrain in southern Utah.
About the RoleThis position plays a critical role in the daily operations of our hut system, which serves guided and self-guided bicycle tour guests traveling through the high desert and forested plateaus of southern Utah. The huts are located in remote areas near Bryce Canyon, between Panguitch and Escalante, adjacent to protected public lands and far from traditional services.
Your days will be spent driving off‑road vehicles, traveling between huts, and ensuring each location is clean, stocked, functional, and welcoming for arriving guests. You’ll also serve as an on‑the‑ground point of contact for tour clients, answering questions, offering local insight, and helping create a memorable experience.
Primary Responsibilities- Daily travel to hut locations via dirt and backcountry roads
- Cleaning and maintaining hut interiors and outdoor areas
- Stocking food, water, tools, and equipment as needed
- Light maintenance and problem‑solving in remote settings
- Guest interaction: answering questions, providing orientation, and assisting bicycle tour clients

- Occasional work at Escalante Cyclery, assisting with basic shop tasks, rentals, or guest support
- Comfortable working independently in remote environments
- Valid driver’s license and confidence driving off‑road vehicles
- Outdoor experience strongly preferred
- Bicycle knowledge or cycling background is highly beneficial, as you’ll regularly interact with bike tour guests
- Friendly, calm, and professional demeanor with guests
- Organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented
- Comfortable with physical work, changing weather, and variable terrain
This role is not a traditional desk job — it’s a hands‑on, outdoor position for someone who enjoys solitude, scenery, and purpose‑driven work.
