Student Farm Assistant
Position Summary:
The Student Farm Assistant assists with grounds, facility, and animal upkeep on the Department of Population Health’s Riverbend and Rose Creek farms.
- Help with the upkeep of the grounds and facilities.
- Grass mowing upkeep of catch pens.
- Fence building/repair.
- Help check cattle and maintain water troughs for cattle.
- General farm daily duties as assigned by Farm Manager.
- Prior farm, construction, or outdoor work experience. All experience will be considered, regardless of whether it was formal/paid work or informal/volunteer/home work.
May involve tractor use (including riding) and lifting of > 50 pounds. Driving a tractor would be the only potential driving responsibility, not vehicles.
