All About Paws Veterinary Hospital is located in Denver, CO. We are looking for a Full‑Time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

The Veterinary Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the well‑being of pets, educating clients, and maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care.

• Apply technical skills in surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, restraint techniques, and sterile environment protocols.
• Contribute to daily hospital efficiency and smooth operations.
• Use exceptional communication skills to engage team members and clients.
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients.
• Educate clients about Wellness Plans and pet care.
• Perform reception duties such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, and handling patient intake and discharge.
• Obtain pertinent medical history and patient information.
• Assist in managing hospital supplies, including inventory tracking and restocking.
• Ensure completion of all assigned duties before shift end.
• Advocate for overall success and performance of the hospital.
• Consistently provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Adapt to individual client needs.
• Resolve customer complaints appropriately.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company policies.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

• Enhance and acquire new veterinary technical skills such as anesthesia, surgical assistance, and dentistry.
• Work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Multi‑task effectively and remain action‑oriented with priorities.
• Work well in a fast‑paced environment, remaining calm and resilient.
• Exhibit proactive initiative in addressing tasks and challenges.
• Maintain high accuracy amidst interruptions.
• Learn new computer software systems (EMR, scheduling).
• Provide a high level of accountability.

• Handling dogs, cats, and exotic animals.
• Providing basic animal care: feeding, bathing, grooming, monitoring.
• Performing common medical procedures: medications, wound care, diagnostic assistance.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months experience in the veterinary industry.
• Completion of an NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience (preferred).

• Position performed onsite at the hospital or approved offsite events. Remote work not available.
• Hospital environment includes limited space, pet waste odors, noise.
• Shifts may be 10+ hours, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays.
• Requires good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑finger dexterity, and visual acuity for keyboard, equipment, and reading.
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjustable focus.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb.
• May be exposed to biting or scratching pets, biological hazards, anesthesia odors, radiation near X‑ray machine, prescription medications including controlled substances.
