As the organization expands to the US, they are seeking a highly motivated and technically credible Senior Business Development/Sales professional to lead growth within pharmaceutical manufacturing and other regulated industries.

The Head of Business Development/Sales will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies focused on pharmaceutical manufacturing quality control environments. The successful candidate will own the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification and customer engagement through validation, implementation, and commercial expansion.
This individual must possess a deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, microbiology laboratories, GMP‑regulated environments, and the complex decision‑making processes involved in adopting new technologies within highly regulated organizations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and execute strategic business development plans targeting pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, CMOs, CDMOs, and other regulated industry customers.
- Own the full sales process from prospecting through contract execution, implementation planning, and account expansion.
- Build trusted relationships with Quality Control, Microbiology, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership stakeholders.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while developing long‑term strategic partnerships within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Deliver technically credible presentations, demonstrations, and value‑based proposals tailored to customer workflows and compliance requirements.
- Support customer qualification and validation initiatives, including coordination around IQ/OQ/PQ activities and method validation requirements.
- Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, pilot programs, and commercial agreements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of successful business development, sales, or commercial leadership experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, laboratory instrumentation, analytical technologies, or related life sciences markets
- This opportunity is ideally suited for a commercial professional who understands the realities of pharmaceutical quality operations and has successfully sold into GMP‑regulated environments. The most competitive candidates will have experience building relationships and driving technology adoption across:
- Quality Control (QC) Microbiology
- Quality Assurance (QA)
- Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT)
- Sterility Assurance and Contamination Control
- Validation and Qualification Functions
- Technical Operations and Manufacturing Leadership
- Regulatory Affairs
- Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs/CDMOs)
- Successful candidates will understand the operational, regulatory, and compliance challenges these teams face daily and will be comfortable navigating complex purchasing decisions involving laboratory personnel, quality leaders, operational stakeholders, procurement, and executive leadership.
- Individuals who have sold laboratory instrumentation, microbiology technologies, rapid microbiological methods (RMM), contamination control solutions, analytical testing platforms, environmental monitoring systems, or other GMP‑regulated technologies will be particularly well positioned for success.
