What You'll Do:
As our next Health & Safety Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our mission—delivering essential services that help improve public safety, enhance environmental quality, and keep things running smoothly. You'll join a team that values hard work, safety, and showing up for one another.
Your Daily Impact:
The job responsibilities below outline the core duties and expectations of a position, providing clarity on how the role supports Company goals. - Safety Operations:
Execute day-to-day H&S operations with a focus on transportation compliance and regulatory adherence. - Training & Development:
Provide OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety training to employees at all levels. - Regulatory Compliance:
Inspect, verify, and document compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. - Monitoring &
Coaching:
Monitor and analyze Samsara safety telematics data, coach managers on trends, and hold teams accountable for improvements. - Incident Management:
Lead investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. - Cultural Change:
Drive safety-first culture by influencing employee behaviors and overcoming resistance. - Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and present H&S reports, using data to guide decisions and improvements. - Collaboration:
Partner with managers, employees, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe and compliant operations. - Travel & Field Presence:
Conduct site visits and field inspections, with travel up to 75% of the time. - Regular & Predictable Attendance:
The ability to consistently report to work on time and as scheduled, with minimal unexcused absences. This includes being present and prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhering to start times, breaks, and end times.
Minimum
Job Requirements:

- Education:
High School or GED - Experience:
3 years Health & Safety experience – waste & recycling services experience preferred - License:
Drivers License

- Safety & Regulatory Expertise:
Deep understanding of OSHA, DOT, and transportation safety requirements with the ability to ensure compliance and mitigate risk - Data-Driven Coaching & Accountability:
Ability to analyze safety data (e.g., telematics), identify trends, and coach leaders to drive measurable performance improvement - Influence & Culture Building:
Skilled at driving behavior change and building a safety-first culture through effective communication, training, and field engagement
