Healthcare Compliance, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Position Purpose
The State Regulatory Compliance Analyst works closely with the State Regulatory Compliance Officer (SRCO) and ethics & compliance staff to administer the Company’s State Regulatory Compliance Program. This position will support the SRCO with validation activities to ensure appropriate implementation of legislative and regulatory edicts. Under the guidance of the SRCO, this position will assist with research projects on a variety of state regulatory topics, and will additionally assist in drafting policies, procedures and tools to support related compliance activities.
The State Regulatory Compliance Analyst will monitor compliance enforcement activities in assigned regions, routinely update and maintain tracking data in various databases and repositories, and prepare summary reports of all results. This position will also perform duties to support the operation of the vendor compliance program.
- Detect potential compliance issues from legal/regulatory changes; notifies appropriate persons.
- Operate applicable department software including Fiscal Note, Compliance 360, SharePoint.
- Know detailed responsibilities required of position.
- Keep updated and current (regulations, guidance, etc.).
- Understand and utilize the company resource structure.
- Develop strategies and align work to achieve goals.
- Complete special projects and other duties as requested to support needs of organization.
- Network with co-workers to share best practices.
- Actively participate in the creation/modification of policies and procedures.
- Understand key reports as they relate to their areas of responsibility.
- Manage invoices, check requests, expense reports and others as they relate to the position.
- Have strong research and analysis skills and be able to navigate state statutes and regulations.
- Assist in conducting compliance validation and monitoring activities as necessary.
- Maintain electronic and paper documentation regarding compliance research requests, guidance, policies, background, and interpretation.
- This position must sit at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL.
License or Certification:
None.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or equivalent.
- 2 years of healthcare experience in a hospital or other healthcare setting.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, email).
