Job Summary
The Global Supply Chain Materials Quality Leader is a critical role in advancing Quality Culture and performance in the Materials organization, leading the GSC Materials Quality team. This leader is responsible for quality across the Materials organization in partnership with the GSC Materials Team, including warehouses that are stand‑alone sites or integrated within factories. The role focuses on systemic improvement plans to reduce customer escapes and severe events, minimize Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), positively impact quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), oversee GSC BOPS OPS, and serve as the point of contact for the Digital Organization within GSC BOPS.
Roles and Responsibilities- Partner with the GSC Materials Team and other members to foster a zero‑defect culture across Materials sites.
- Drive consistent GSC Quality strategy across standalone warehouses and factories.
- Implement Build in Quality (BiQ) practices into applicable processes to prevent defects.
- Protect customers through systemic and rapid problem‑solving, leveraging prior lessons learned.
- Execute systematic root‑cause solutions using a standard approach.
- Apply harmonized quality standards developed in the GSC organization with discipline and rigor.
- Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) requirements are met and adhered to.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in warehouses to enhance customer experience.
- Drive reduction of Scrap and Rework (CoPQ) and elimination of Severe Events.
- Ensure timely closure of Non‑Conformity Reports (NCRs).
- Facilitate effective cross‑functional communication and engagement with all team members.
- Promote an inclusive culture focused on safety and quality, aligning with GE Leadership Behaviors and operational goals.
- Provide leadership development, performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring to the Materials Quality Organization.
- Ensure GSC BOPS OPS requirements (e.g., bowlers, MOR reviews, rhythms, executive presentations) are delivered on time and with quality.
- Lead the GSC BOPS Digital Roadmap planning and execution, acting as the point of contact between GSC BOPS and the GEV / GSC Digital Excellence organization.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience leading Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, and Quality organizations.
- Expertise in lean problem‑solving tools (e.g., A3, CAPA, PFMEA, 8D).
- Fluent in English.
- Travel as needed to support strategy, problem‑solving at Materials sites, and team collaboration.
- Legally authorized to work in the relevant country for this opening.
- For roles in the USA – at least 6 years of experience if holding only a high‑school diploma or GED.
- For roles outside the USA – significant experience in Quality & Quality Management; knowledge comparable to a Bachelor's degree level.
- End‑to‑end experience from design/engineered‑to‑order supply chain management.
- Experience deploying Quality policies in highly regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aviation).
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence for results.
- Change agent with strong credibility at all organizational levels, leveraging quick wins and early successes.
- Experience working and leading cross‑culturally across time zones.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain critical issues simply.
- Comfortable working across functions within a matrix organization.
- Proven mentoring and coaching abilities.
- Ability to positively motivate and inspire others with a strong presence.
- Competitive compensation with a pay range between $142,200 and $237,100, plus a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
