QA Manager Position at Oxolo

Oxolo is a KI startup from Hamburg. We develop modern KI software that helps companies make daily work processes smarter, faster, and easier. Our new KI solution targets the construction industry - especially architectural firms, trades, construction companies, and other companies along the construction value chain.

Our goal is to build KI solutions that create measurable benefits in the real working day: less manual work, better preparation, faster communication, and clearer decision-making bases for teams that work daily with projects, documents, offers, meetings, and operational processes.

To make this work in the hands of real people on real construction sites, it needs more than good features. It needs someone who critically examines them, ensures their reliability, and thinks ahead. This is where you come in.

As a QA Manager, you build the test foundation for Oxolo's web and mobile product: close to the development team, close to the product, with real construction site processes in mind.

• ** Quality starts at the beginning, not at the end.
  
  ** You develop test cases and test plans not only based on design specs but with real use cases from the field and industry-specific edge cases in mind. You will know the product better than anyone else.

• ** Testing as an active part of development.
  
  ** You work closely with the product and engineering teams throughout the development cycle, identify problems early, and write bug reports that are clear enough to accelerate fixes.

• ** Responsibility for the release gate.
  
  ** You ensure that releases meet the defined quality and robustness criteria on web, iOS, and Android before they are delivered.

This position is deliberately set up as an entry point into a growing QA function. You start with a clear core area: building test coverage, working closely with the development cycle, securing releases. What comes out of it also depends on you.

Must have

• At least 2 years of experience in QA/software testing, ideally in a fast-growing or startup environment.
• German as a native language (C2/native level). This is essential for working with our DACH customer base, German construction documentation, and German construction vocabulary.
• Proven ability to create test plans and test cases methodically and reproducibly.
• Experience in testing on mobile (iOS and/or Android) and web as well as ensuring cross-platform parity.
• Profound attention to detail and clear, reproducible bug reports.
• Strong communication skills and ease of coordination. You work well in close relation with engineers and PMs.
• Independent and proactive: able to organize your test activities with minimal oversight.
• Secure English (spoken and written).

Nice to have

• Experience with software for the DACH construction industry (or related field service or construction site tools) is a big plus - especially familiarity with how German construction teams actually work on the construction site.
• Experience in building QA from scratch or scaling in a startup or scale-up.
• Experience in defining release/smoke test checklists and regression suites.
• Experience with AI/LLM-driven features and testing non-deterministic output.
• Familiarity with issue trackers (we use Linear), test management tools, and QA process automation.
• Knowledge of compliance, data protection, and consent-sensitive features (GDPR, TÜV, SOC II Type
  2) and audit-safe testing.
