Job Overview
Based at our Sidney, OH location, you will be responsible for ensuring quality rigor and manufacturing readiness of compressor products for new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing technology development. This role partners with Advanced Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Operations to support early compressor development, pilot builds, pre-production validation activities from early concept through production release.
Responsibilities- Perform part inspections utilizing CMMs and similar metrology equipment, using both on-machine programming and 3D CAD models in virtual environments.
- Gauge new product development hardware and gather data for analysis across a variety of gaging systems.
- Perform quality systems installations, qualifications, capability studies, and gage R&R's for assembly and machining processes.
- Assist in development, validation, and maintenance of inspection methods, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Participate in implementation and training of new quality inspection systems.
- Provide training of inspection systems to other technical personnel.
- Assist in projects that drive continuous improvement.
- Comply with all required safety and regulatory requirements.
- Three (3+) years of experience in manufacturing or quality environment.
- Aptitude to learn programming of CMMs.
- Ability to simultaneously drive multiple quality systems projects and support production needs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative thinking.
- Familiar with technical drawings with general understanding of GD&T.
- Theoretical and practical understanding of SPC and experience making data-driven decisions.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided.
- 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality environment.
- Formal GD&T training.
- Formal CMM training.
- Understanding of part datum and GD&T standards.
- Excellent collaboration skills across multiple levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Understanding of machining and assembly processes.
- Experience with PC-DMIS/MODUS CMM programming.
This role is based fully onsite and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
