What You Will Do
- Drive operational excellence and process compliance within the supply base through on‑site visits and assessments.
- Help key suppliers resolve significant issues likely to have a business‑wide impact by working cross‑functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality and Operations leadership.
- Coordinate and resolve company/department‑wide risks and obstacles to align manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules with customer needs.
- Report key suppliers’ progress to operational initiatives at executive reviews with senior level leadership, both internal and external.
- Drive improvement of on‑time delivery and quality performance at multiple suppliers.
- Develop and drive quality improvement plans.
- Coordinate root cause identification and corrective actions.
- Lead onsite assessments with Buyers, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive overall supplier improvement.
- Identify and remove significant barriers to the implementation of CI for suppliers to improve on‑time delivery and quality.
- Evaluate key supplier performance and apply sustainable countermeasures and actions to facilitate improvement.
- Direct production readiness assessments for New Product Introduction and rate increases, including capacity confirmation to ensure a timely ramp‑up to production volumes with a business‑wide impact.
- Oversee monitoring of critical business‑wide metrics and coordinate cross‑functional work teams to significantly increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
- Engage senior management of key suppliers to initiate appropriate major improvement programs to achieve and sustain high levels of performance.
- Plan, organize, direct and report all activities and matters relating to supplier performance.
- Evaluate supplier performance, management, capacity and production readiness.
- Assess supplier qualifications including training and certifications.
- Elaborate supplier development plans and collaborate with the supplier to ensure best performance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field and 8 years of experience in Operations, Quality, and/or Continuous Improvement roles; or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Residency within the Midwest (IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, WI).
- Experience with strong structured project management and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to initiate, lead and sustain change activities at suppliers.
- CORE Professional (any track).
- Six‑Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt or Lean certificate.
- RTX SHA certified assessor.
- ITC experience.
- SAP experience using Procurement and Quality transactions.
Remote (work from home) within the Midwest, USA. Must travel up to 80% of the time on‑site at suppliers in the Midwest region.
Salary RangeUSD 132,400 – 251,600.
